Almaty budget reached 415 billion tenge in 2011

Investments into the main capital of Almaty made 414.8 billion tenge ($2.8 billion) in 2011, which is 0.5 percent more than in 2010, considering the index of actual prices, Tengrinews.kz reports from the meeting of Almaty Akim Akhmetzhan Yessimov with the citizens where he reported on results of the year 2011. “The share of the state budget in the total volume of investments remains quite high and has made 30 percent in 2011. The main part of investments falls on transport, industry, real estate operations, information and communications,” Akim said. Besides, he noted that small and medium businesses are developing. The number of active members of this market has grow 13 percent and employment increased by 0.7 percent, while production of goods, works and service went 1.1 percent up. “Right now small and medium entrepreneurship provide jobs for every third employable citizen and give around 60 percent of tax incomes to the budget,” Yessimov said.
